CAMP CRAFTSMEN

Doug and I are lucky to have good friend who is very talented in wood working.
Jim F. is on a mission to replace our current cabinets with works of art.
This table, which is also a dropleaf, and cabinet drawers are all wooden inlaid with exotic wood from across the world.
They are completely hand made and are very much appreciated, more then he will ever know.
Thank you very much!

OPENING DAY TROPHY

WOW!! Congrats Joe M.
Joe and I opened the 2010 Trout Fishing Season on a secluded stream in McKean County.
This was the 1st fish of the day, and only his 3rd cast of the season, when this trophy took his bait.
This fish measured 20 inches, and the girth was impressive!
I kept my wits, while trying to net the the giant Brookie, and managed to shoot some video footage. Neither of us new actually how big this fish was until we got it close to the net.
Joe's second fish of the day was an impressive 16 in. plus Brook Trout.
What a good start to our 2010 Trout Season.

What is kind of funny about this day, is that I had just purchased a new landing net before the season, to replace the 1 I had, which is kind of flimsy. I carried both of them on opening day and Joe asked me why?
I told him "1 is for the regular fish, and the other 1 is for big fish"
It was a good purchase.

JOES 20 INCH BROOKIE VIDEO!!

CLEANING STATION.

It is a good sign when the fillet table has a crowd.
That means much work needs to be done, and plenty of fish have been caught.
Everyone caught there limit on the opening day, and we have a good start for our fish fry for this coming Friday.

ANOTHER TROPHY

Joe finished up his opening weekend of Trout Season with another nice fish.
A 17 1/4 long Brook Trout.
I am glad that I was there to share in his once in a life time fishing experience.

STOCKING

I headed up to camp to do a little fine tuning in anticipation of the upcoming opening of Trout Season. Everything is in fine running order after an issue with the septic tank.
I was joined at camp by Butch and Bob W. on Saturday to assist the Fish Commish in the stocking of Potato Creek. We also took along our neighbors 12 year old grandson Nick T.
It was a fun time, and the trout were well dispersed.

NICK T.

We took out neighbors grandson, Nick T. to help us stocking. He did a fine job of toting buckets of trout and getting them to the creek quickly and safely.
He even managed to stay fairly dry!!!

STOCKING FOR HOOSIERS

I did some stocking for the boys from Indiana. This should hold them over for the week, and maybe, they will have some left over to import back home. (maybe)

TURKEY BUZZARDS

The buzzards were doing a recon mission in anticipation of our arrival at camp for the opener. They will be there in force next weekend.

CAMP GARDEN

The camp garden is looking good for this early in the year. I only planted garlic and onions, because it is the only thing the deer won't eat.
I might try to put in some sunflowers later on in the year.
