COMPLETE

Butch and I arrived early at camp for the opening of the Pa. Deer season.
We figured we would get alot done during our extended weekend at camp.
Every thing started out great with us flying through the final wall panel installation.
We ended the evening visiting with the crew from Broken Horn Camp and enjoying good conversation, football, and a few beverages.
The arrival of opening day was pretty uneventful. No or very few deer were spotted. in the Northern Tier by hunters we had talked too. We know of only 2 buck harvested in the area.
Tuesday was a complete wash out with rain starting in the early morning and continuing through the day. 2 1/2 inches of rain was in the forecast with windy conditions.

OUR NEXT REMODELING PROJECT

After the completion of the living room project, Butch and I decided to tackle the remodeling of the kitchen. Both of us thought we could knock this off in one morning.
WHAT A MISCALCULATION THAT WAS!!!!!!!!
We quit working around 8 in the evening and still have a way to go.
Handling flimsy 4' by 8' sheets f.r.p. panels and making intricate cuts took waaaaay longer then expected.
What we do have done looks good. Probably will take another day for completion.
I HOPE?

2010 PA. BEAR SEASON

Pa. hunting season is in full swing and 4 of us went to camp to join in the festivities.
Alot lot of hunting was done, but with no success so far. Joe and I came home today and the 2 Hoosiers will finish up the season on there own.
This 130 lb. female was shot by a hunter at a camp nearby.
The Saturday start of the Bear season gave us Sunday to get some things done at camp.
We took advantage of that time to cover the living room walls with some new pine panels.
In the short time we had, much was accomplished.
With all their help, the place is really starting to shape up.

JIM F.

We all just relaxed and watched the Pens win another hockey game the Friday before the opener.
A couple of us relaxed more then others.

CROSSBOW DOE

Congrats to Kurt P. on his first crossbow deer.
Kurt decided to give archery a try due to the limited amount of hunting opportunities he will have this year. Kurt graduated with a degree in Electro Optics Technology and has entered the work force. We all know how that goes.
Welcome to the real world kid, and congrats again.

MORE CAMP IMPROVEMENT

Went to camp solo this weekend and really enjoyed myself. I repaired a leak in the Well House and wrapped the pipes with heating cable to ensure that no breaks will occur during our Bear and Deer hunting seasons. (i hope)
On Saturday I finished insulating around the windows and got started on installing the knotty pine panels on 1 wall in the living room. I must say it looks fantastic! It really brightened the place up.
On the way home I stopped to pick up my trail camera. There were many pictures taken, but nothing to impressive. There was another different buck that came to visit.
That makes 13 different antlered bucks that have visited this scrape in the last 3 weeks.
I would never believe that there were that many bucks in the area that I hunt.

GHOST DEER

Every time I pick up my trail cam, it never fails to get a close up of a curious deer.
Maybe I should strap my camera to my waist when I have my Treebark camo on?
